Arne & Carlos dolls….........ha!!!!!!
I am in love with these two. I want to show up at their Norwegian farm and hang out, knit stuff, drink tea, chase chickens and stage Viking raids upon their gardens and psyches.
I ought to rename this goal to The Fiber Arts goal, or something, now. I recently acquired a loom (portable, 7 stick loom) and am very excited by project possibilities….
Re knitting, though…I stopped in at the library on my way home from work today (I actually left work on time this afternoon!) and on the new acquisition non fiction table I found this gem of a book. The cover is what drew me in; two men sitting on a sofa in their handknit Scandinavian intarsia(?) FairIsle(?) sweaters, knitting & looking all darlin’ & dorkalicious. Meet Arne and Carlos! Just love ‘em!
And oh yeah, the book! It’s called 55 Christmas Balls to Knit. I think an old fashioned tree would look beautiful with some of these on it. I hardly think of these kinds of things in Spring, but I do have friends who knit beautifully and might be able to help me complete a few by next Christmas! Ha!
season to open up the yarn cupboard! Finish some projects and start some new ones.
(Yup, this be my actual stash…..I sit before it like a child before a candy counter….in awe….almost drooling…..it’s so…..beautiful….)
Last knitting season (for I do not knit when it is warm) I didn’t knit very often. I did finish a lovely scarf and a pair of slippers that I gave away. That was about it. I have been wanting to knit myself something gorgeous and feminine and flowy. Something like this style, only with longer sleeves, maybe bell sleeves….with a matching “skinny scarf”, or cloche, perhaps both! Not sure about color yet….
