Well, Chances place didn’t work out this year. The tiller wasn’t acting right, My truck broke, Then I got a temporary job. Over at my place I couldn’t get the planters made in order to transplant. This is because my ceramic studio is still a mess. Because my ability to transplant was limited only a fraction of my plants survived. My best tip is to be ahead of yourself as much as possible. Try to have the next phase secured and ready to go well before you need it. Eliminate the potential for hang-ups. I hope that all of this learning will help me to be a great success next season. I do have some plants which have flowers so I hope to have some vegetables.
Also for container gardening I recommend using the biggest pot you have and only transplanting once so that you don’t hurt the roots or have to water constantly..
I have put a lot on my effort in to composting and that has been going well. I am going to start a worm bin as well as make a bat house. This is all due to the price of organic potting soil and my drive to learn and be independent.

Today I transplanted some tomato seeds from my sprouter to some pots and I forgot to label them. So now I have three mystery tomato plants. I will just have to keep them isolated when flowering so that I don’t get my heirlooms crossed. I could also give them to Chance because he wants everything to cross anyway. I’m really happy about all of the seeds coming up.

I have limited space so I have to be creative. I cleared off the roof of a shed that I use as a ceramics studio. It’s study so that is where I am making my container garden. I collected some bamboo canes from an overgrowth and built a rack for cucumbers, peas, beans, and coyote squash that will need to hang. I may just let them intermingle.
I’m also teaming up with my Great friend Chance. He has a nice bit of land to work with so he let me have a plot to myself. I am paying for the heirloom seeds and some fresh dirt to mix in and I brought over a tiller. He is 40 minutes away but it’s worth it to have even more of an incentive to hang out.
Tomorrow I am going to work on making more clay planters. I am going to use a wick watering system to ensure that things don’t dry out.
