memorize poetry

I’ve been collecting records since my uncle passed away. I received his records and player and rigged them to some large old speakers. It’s a growing collection and I let a few go here and there. I only keep the ones I will ever listen to.

I like Robert Frost and found a record of him reading a handful of his poems. I want to memorize a few of these. I want to be able to read them just as he does, the way they they sound best. I have memorized songs before always keeping the pauses and timing right as well as the words. I’m not a singer. I’m better with pronunciation than proper notes. Poems will suit me better and the timing will be more challenging without music.
