We’re starting off with building up positive memories. My first round was building up a ‘safe space’ which is a place that I have a positive memory of so if I start getting distressed with negative experiences I just think of that space. It sounded kind of silly to me but it works pretty well, I seem to chill out really fast. Next up is round two, this will be working with an experience that is negative but low on the distress scale for me. I’m so glad to be taking baby steps into this, I can see how it could get intense real quick otherwise.
