Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them. ~ Dalai Lama

This morning it was raining. The morning was dark, windy, and cold. I stopped at the coffee place I like to go to. And as I walked thru the parking lot I held my hands out, (palms up) so that I could catch the rain drops. It was a beautiful morning.

I let the sunshine hit my face today, this warm feeling brings me happiness

Passion in the dark

The time has changed and it’s getting dark out so early. I need to remind myself to get out from behind my desk and enjoy the sun when it’s out… or I need to remind myself that you can also see/ find passion when it’s dark outside.

When you live passionately, you feel like you are filled up with love.

Locked indoors

For the last 3 weeks I feel like I’ve been locked indoors.
My mom is visiting and can’t do a lot…. Even though I feel this way, I’m enjoying every moment with my mom

The Day

The Day is a little grey, the air holds a small dampness and the humidity hits your lungs with power. It’s not an ideal day, but it is what’s here and I’m enjoying it. My you find The Day a good one and my you live The Day with much passion

find the upside

People surprise us every day. Sometimes it’s an angry stranger who comes out of nowhere; other times it’s a loved one with a gift “just because.” We can’t know what’s around each corner but if we greet surprises positively, we’ll thrive. That stranger may be struggling in ways we can’t know & not all gifts come with motives. Give the benefit of the doubt and find the upside. ♥

Another day has past and I’m still living passionately

As I sit at my desk by the window, I think of the last few weeks and reflect. My life is not perfect, but for the most part I have learned to take it all in. No matter how busy I am, I’ve been able to find the time to ‘stop and smell the roses’ as they say. Or if I’m having a bad day, maybe I’m feeling blue or overwhelmed; I’ve still been able find the good things in my life.

No matter how the day is, busy, slow, sad, or happy… another day has past and I’m still living passionately. I find it a great way to be and I am happy that I am starting to live my life this way.

Some things that come to mind …

A smile shared
A flower in bloom
The hot sun shining on your face
The sounds of laughter
Kids playing
Bike riders / joggers
People sitting by a lake
Reading a book
That morning cup of coffee
Taking a long walk
Playing ball with the dog
A purring cat
Birds chirping
Dancing in the rain
Hearing the bell when homemade cookies are done.
Hearing your favorite song
A mothers hug

When I think of these things, I feel warm inside, what this world has to offer is wonderful… Take it all in and enjoy it.
Live Passionately even over the small stuff.
