have my own appartment

One in St-Bruno, and one in Alma. I’ll call this week and try to go and visit both of them.

Oh, and I didn’t write any entry about this, but the only piece of essential furniture missing now is a refrigerator. I got all the rest, including a free washing machine and dryer. :)

My aunt called yesterday night to tell me that one of her friends had a stove for sell. I went to see it tonight and I swear, when I entered the place, I looked at it and I thought it was the new one.

It’s 11 years old but looks like new! And I’ll get it for only $100!

Things I still need to get:

• Refrigerator
• Washing machine / dryer
• TV
• Bedroom set
• Microwave

And some cheaper stuff, obviously. Maybe I can start with the bedroom set I have at my parents’ place, but I’d like to have a queen sized bed, and the one I have is a single sized. For the TV, I could get an old black and white one that’s in my brother’s room, and that hasn’t been used for years. But I don’t think I can plug cable television on it. And even less game consoles. :P

... I’ll be less in a hurry to move out. I’ll do it anyway, that’s for sure, because I want to get my freedom from my parents, and I want to be able to invite people over. Like some of you.

The difference now is that instead of looking for something in Jonquière or Chicoutimi, I’ll go back to my previous plan and look for an appartment in Alma, close to the store where I work the most.

My father comes and asks if I’ll be okay, financially speaking, to have an appartment. And the reasons why I do it. I explained that I had to get an appartment soon or later, but my summer project was making it happen earlier. And then he told me that I was seeing too big, that I probably wouldn’t be able to succeed in making this project come true.

Damn, I hate him sometimes. Still, I love him like a father, but… oh well.

My decision is taken, I won’t change it.

Tables and chairs! And nice ones!

My friend Julie bought a new kitchen set. She thought of me, since I told her I was going to move out this year, and called me this morning to offer me her old kitchen set.

She’s so nice, and I’m so grateful. :)

I already have some furniture to bring with me. A whole living room set, for example. With a leather sofa. :D

And I talked to one of my aunts who’ll be buying a new kitchen set soon. I might get her old table and chairs. There’s a possibility that she also changes her refrigerator and stove. Good news for me! :P

I told them a bit about my summer project and the reasons why I might want to move out before the summer, and they didn’t seem to have any objection or complain or anything, which is pretty rare. In fact, they even seemed a bit helpful, and they told me I could have the old living room furnitures, since they just bought a new one while I was away.

My cousin Katrina told me that it’d be better for me to start looking right away, because the best deals can be found at this time of the year and if I wait too much, like until Spring, I’ll only get the remains, the appartments that nobody else wanted.

So, I’ll have to start looking, now. But I never shopped for an appartment. I’ll need some advice, and I think I know one or two persons who’d be able to help me.

The little messy appartment that I visited last week got rented. My boss called me to ask me if I wanted her to keep it for me, but I told her that “I was not ready”. I won’t go and tell her the appartment is a total mess, tout de même!

She then told me she was going to build new appartments in the basement of the building and if I want, she’ll build one a little smaller for me. It would be all new and fresh, and it gives me the time to prepare for the move. So I might look forward to it. :)

One word: laughable.

It’s smaller than a hotel room, the walls are on cement, and I would never want to have a shower in that shower.

We’ll say where the future will bring me now.

Because with everything that has happened in the last few days, I didn’t have much time to visit the appartment. And anyway, the guy hasn’t left yet. And now, since my bosses are leaving for one week, I shouldn’t have any opportunity to visit it before two weeks.

I’m not in a hurry though. It’s okay. There’s too much stuff going on already. I need a break at some point, I think. I’m tough, but I’m human.
