It is amazing how many people out there don’t know there fathers, but what is much more interesting is how little some mothers will work with their children to find them. I also don’t know my father and have no idea if my mom has told me the truth. My mom said she went to a party (lived in Indianapolis) and had a one night stand with a guy named John Hinkens. My mom said he had blonde hair, blue eyes and was a couple years older than her putting him around 50 years old. After she found out she was pregnant she said she tried to contact him through a friend, once (I was born in 1979). I guess this friend told my mom that this John wouldn’t be interested. Shortly after my mom moved us to Florida and that is all I have.

I want to know where I get some of my characteristics. I am upset my mom didn’t try harder and I don’t even know if what she said is true. I would like to find him someday. I have looked up a John Hinkens in Wisconsin and sent him a letter, but he let me know he wasn’t my father, of course that assumes he is telling the truth. This man has 2 daughters just a little younger than I. I doubt he would want to explain me to his wife and kids, if in fact he is my father. There just don’t seem to be that many people with that name.

This just seems so unattainable.

Probably never going to happen 16 months ago

My biological father’s name is John Hinkens. I was born in Indianapolis and he lived there in 1979, though I don’t know if he was from there. My mom has told me he had blonde hair and blue eyes, and he would be about 48-52 years old.

This seems like a goal that won’t happen, but I am going to try.
