Figure out how I’m going to do this.
I’ve been doing a bit of research and here’s what I’ve gathered:
Step One – Part One
- Make a list of everything important I want to accomplish before I die in the following areas: learning, creativity, health, family, love, volunteer work or public service, career, financial, pleasure
- Review the list and revise conflicting goals
- Write down why I want to accomplish each of the goals, getting as specific as possible, and determine how I will know when it is achieved, writing down how I will measure that progress as I work towards completion
- Assign a date or stage for accomplishing each goal, sorting the list into stages of my life. For example, “Before I reach the age of…”
Step One – Part Two
- Write down at least 20 ways to reach my top goal. Force myself to think past the obvious in order to break through with some very creative concepts. Choose the 3 best ways
- Make a list of all the things that are holding me back. For example, too busy, money, education, etc. Choose the major roadblock to my success. What can I do to remove it? Use the 20 idea list here again if necessary to review how I can remove that big obstacle.
