i don’t have time for this, though
i probably should
who should i invite, Caron and Chet who i thought were my ex’s friends and just siding with her and i find out they are independent voters, or Kay and Jim, or should i do things further away from work, or how about, my nieces and nephews, hmmm, maybe that is the way to go, a plated dinner for them. Or, get a date and ask my sister and her new boyfriend, hmmmm. sounds too formal, or invite a few dates all at once and let’s have it out. that would simplify things and give me more time to have dinner parties.

let’s have a dinner at my apartment, in september, everyone in the department with their people
i am department chair so they don’t have too much wiggle room
but we are quite good and i am proud of them and there is much that is worthwhile to this group; some new folks and some vets
looking for more ways to put things together
but next
Sunday
five for dinner
plenty of time to plan it out
maybe even do the place cards, the flowers
get to play house and put on a nice display for adults
had Jim and Kay over
got involved, removed from other thoughts
vaacumed, bought flowers, cooked a chicken in the clay pot, now that there are fewer restrictions on what is to be eaten, I invented a brussel sprout, red onion, capers in a light cream sauce dish
a dessert from a recipe by my grandmother
two Merlots
talk of books, work, and stuff
nice, comfortable—felt like a home
