Signing up for a half marathon in Feb ….a day before my birthday! Getting excited ….cos I think this goal is becoming more and more possible :)
Laura Bloomfield has written 6 entries about this goal
Managed my personal best tonight in the 30’s :) 39.15!! I could have talked myself out of it at 2k but was thinking about some friends who are doing this too with me and just kept going.
After talking during a girls night in the conversation came up to do the New York Marathon for my 40th…..how inspiring is that…..I know I have quite far to go but, I feel more and more excited now to do it.
Going to try and do the same tomorrow! :)
Knocked just over 4 mins off my time…....now to take it down again! :)
For the first time since…....well it must have been school!
Went to the gym with 2 friends and I suggested we should try to walk/jog or run 5k….I honestly thought I would walk the majority of it …..... But I only walked about .5 of a km!!!!!
I am so chuffed and proud of myself :)
I did it in 46 minutes 15 seconds ….... Next goal is to beat that!! ;)
I have started running at least! Planning a 5k in July and then a 10k before I have to go back to work in Nov…..I have roped in some of my girl friends to join me so I better pull my finger out and start getting outside for a run not just the gym :)
I love it when I do it so I just have to be more consistent! So the plan is to get up and start this tomorrow am!
The London marathon inspires me every year aswell as stories of other races. Julie and Gary doing the ‘great north run’ made me want to join the club. I used to run at school and was quite good but, haven’t for years.
So I have 4.5 years to meet my goal from a non-runner to a Marathon runner. I have got myself a book with some ways to start called – Running made easy and I am starting with the 5k option.
As well as achieving my goal I am looking forward to the other benefits of loosing weight and running around this beautiful town of Broadstairs where I live…aswell as other exciting places round the globe :)
