I was due to be climbing the Reek today with family and friends but dueto unfortunate circumstances we didn’t get to Ireland planning a trip later in the summer!

Any training tips for climbing a mountain??
I have travelled home to Castlebar now for many years…..I call it home but I have never lived there. It is where my mother is from and I have fond memories (happy and sad) of my Granny, Aunts and cousins – I feel such love for the place and it makes me feel like I am travelling home when I visit.
Croagh Patrick has always towered over the West with its perfect triangle shape. I have heard stories of pilgrimage and climbs on Weddding days, on the day of a loved ones funeral and it holds a special challenge. I have never climbed it but I have photos and paintings of it.
I want to climb it before I am 40 – so I have two years to get Croagh Patrick fit.
So that is the next goal – get some mountain climbing experience before I am next back home…..
