I don’t know if I’m ready to give this up entirely but grad school has moved to the back burner for the time being.

It may be senioritis, but I really just want to be done with school. I also want to stop freaking out about my GPA and statements of purpose and letters of recommendation and application deadlines. All of that on top of just getting through this semester is making me slightly insane. Working for a year and then reevaluating is sounding like a much better plan. Of course, that puts me in with the ranks of “I’m graduating in May and I have no idea what I’m going to do after that” people, which is not a place I wanted to be, but right now I’m feeling a lot better about job-hunting than I am about grad school.
Every year library schools are spitting out hundreds if not thousands of brand spanking new MLS grads. Anyone you talk to in the library field says there is a serious shortage of jobs for all these new librarians.
Being a librarian is the only thing that has excited me enough to go back to school. The more I learn about it, the more I want to do it, but I’m really concerned that I’m going to spend $20,000+ getting a degree and then not be able to find a job.
Argh, so much to worry about, so little time.
