Two nights ago as I was putting gas in my car a woman with a small child walked up to the pump across from me and began to fill a small gas can. As I was pulling out of the gas station, I saw her walking towards the street, carrying her son and the gas can. It crossed my mind that I should stop and see if she needed a ride, but the light turned green and I pulled away. Who knows if she would have accepted, but I feel bad that I didn’t even offer.
The next time a situation like this arises, I want to think less of how tired I am and the homework waiting for me, and more of how I would want someone to act if the situation were reversed.
