Apparently I’m supposed to stick with the dose for the time being, but I’ll make an appointment with those women from the feminist health center, FFGZ. Need to find out how to go about this – what to do when I want to experiment with a lower dose. Herbal tea, singing, all that.
On the test result sheet it also said that I should do something about my low vitamin D level. Weird.

To my surprise, the doctor, a male one I hadn’t talked to before, approved of my casual (pretend, pretend) inquiry about medication and whether I might stop taking the pills at some point. He actually perked up all of a sudden. Maybe it doesn’t happen everyday that someone wants to break out of the routine of annual checkups? I was happy to hear his suggestion to try lowering the dose from 100 to 75 micrograms daily. He was also the first doctor ever patient enough to show me the ultrasound, rather than just talking about how there are no lumps. I had never really seen my thyroid before. It’s true that it looks like a butterfly… so fragile. I hope the test results turn out okay.

I’ll see my doctor again in March, for a check-up after six months. Curious to see if anything has changed – why would it? Afterwards, I’ll make an appointment with the people from FFGZ. Find out what alternative plans they come up with. And – I really should speak up, and sing, more often!
