who here does pastels?

I’m having a LOT of problems with them these days…

if somebody has a tip or technique of keeping pastel DARKS very DARK, I’d love to know what it is…

Its very frustrating that I can’t seem to manage DEEP darks…

I’ve been focusing on LIGHT… but that gets tiresome if you can’t make contrasts…

But I’ll be damned if I can figure out how to DO anything more sophisticated than scribble.

Real artists have precise, blended pastels. Not me. If I could figure out how they do it without smearing or muddying the colours!!
