organize a fundraiser

I’m getting together with my co-director this Sat to clarify a few things and perhaps also enjoy a movie and pizza!

...have been written. Now it’s the hard part…getting it to all come together! I feel really good about it being a success…people are talking about it already, so that can’t be a bad thing.

Ok…so I’ve started working on it again…on my own. Until we’re able to meet on a regular basis again I have to take initiative and keep it going…I am the head honcho of the operation after all. I’ve written 7 of the 12 location clues…and I think they’re a good mix of easy and challenging…I’ll review them with the girls to be sure that they like them, but I don’t see there being a problem. Besides I think it’s best to have one person writing all of the questions as style of writing vary and you want something like that to be consistent. Also…I’ve signed up for a web page…that’s going to take a lot of work on my part…all with good time. I would have to say that my proudest accomplishment with this goal so far is the logo that I’ve come up with…it’s very simple and basic…and the girls need to like it before it becomes official…but, again I don’t see there being a problem _{at least I hope not.}

We had been doing so well…

I think Wednesday night meeting were a bad idea…too many fun things going on those night…and now one of the girls had another obligation those nights…maybe we can change the meeting to Thursday’s?

I know that we’re still doing it…I just hoped to be much more along by now.

Kids Help Phone…it’s a great charity and I think that too often kids have no one to talk to and they need someone to listen. Hopefully we can help answer their call. I spoke to a representative and she was very helpful…and so nice!...Love that!

We’ve had a lot of progress over the last little while…we’ve made a list of the places that we would like to use in our hunt…and we’ve divided the research aspect to the clues. This week we are narrowing it down to our ‘Top 10’ and I’ll be going down to check out the places and see if they’re going to work for our event. Then we need to get sponsorship going…

There’s a lot left to do…but it feels good!

So my co coordinator and I have actually met…I can’t believe it…it finally happened…the ball has started rolling, even if it’s going a little slow at the moment! But the important thing is that we stared talking, sharing, organizing and well…getting excited about really doing this. Now the hard work starts. I’m not really sure where to go from here. I know that we have to write up a plan of some kind, and well, inform our charity…speaking of which, we’re not quite sure as to which charity we would like to support. Neither one of us has had the misfortune of being affected by an illness. We have decided, however, that we would like to support a charity that is based in Toronto…so money raised by Torontonians goes back to Torontonians…it’s an idea that we’re liking, but we might play with it a bit. Even though the original idea was to help all of the different types of very important charities making a difference in this world.

Ok…so we didn’t end up meeting on Sunday, but we’re meeting this Tuesday over coffee. I hope we can get this going.

Ok, so again, I’ve been thinking about how to raise some money for causes that I believe in for a long time…6 years almost!...and so far it’s been a lot of talk and very, very little action, except for a few sketches that I made for a logo and actually giving it a name…however, the event has gone from being a sports event to…a search-and-find style event…so now the logo doesn’t exactly fit…so basically, I’m back to nothing.
I’m pumped about this idea a lot more though, which is great because it gives me much more momentum to get my ass in gear and get it going. I think that we’ll be able to save more money, and therefore donate more funds this way too, because we won’t have to rent any parks for the event…sweet!
I’m stoked that my friends want to get involved too…I initially thought that it would be a one woman run show…but it doesn’t seem to be so. Well we’re talking this sunday…so I’ll get my pen and paper ready with ideas…yeah, let me get on that now…
