tell my best friend how much I love him

I just don’t know what he thought about it :(
He hasn’t mentioned it to me (it was written) and I don’t want to bring it up for fear of lessoning its value.

Ah well, it’s done, right?

what I want to get across when I eventually explain to him, but I’m not sure how to say it.
I’m pretty sure he knows more or less that I care about him a lot, but he’s in a bit of a low state lately and I don’t want to overwhelm him.
That or he’d take what was being said the wrong way and think I was coming on to him :(
Ah well…. in a few weeks, maybe.
