Learn to Salsa

I have to put this on hold for a while?

Not the goal, just the lessons.. I just can’t afford the money or the time this term. But maybe i will take it up again next term with my photography course, when i have finished my current Spanish course.

Do i sound mad about courses!? :S

Anyway, in the mean time i will keep practicing at home when i remember :)

Didn’t salsa yesterday! I was sooooo tired. I have been practising the steps though. I don’t know if i’ll go next Monday, because it will be the last lesson of the six week cycle, but maybe i will. Or maybe i will just start at the very beginning, the following week. It’s a very good place to start. (When you dance you begin with 1-2-3)

I went to salsa last night, and had a great time! It was my first formal lesson, and everyone kept telling me how good i was, for my first time. We had thought it was a drop-in class, but found out when we were there it actually goes in rounds of 6 weeks, and it was in the 4th week, so we were doing a few different little moves. It was a lot of fun! I think i will definately go next week. Another plus, is that next term, Spanish is on Wednesday and Thursday, so i can still go to salsa!

My friend SC that i went with had a good time too, but it’s not really what she’s looking for in a dance class, she wants something more high energy, for a cardio workout.

Tonight i am going to a salsa class, with my friend SC. I am so happy that i am going – i wasn’t going to go because today was going to be the day that Toby returned home from his working holiday at the snow. But he surprised me and came home on Saturday night! So now i don’t feel so bad running off to salsa.

Maybe i won’t be able to take a course next term. I think it is going to end up that i am doing Spanish intensive again, which is two times a week. And between that and flute and actually having a life, i don’t think i’m going to have much time to salsa next term. Maybe. We’ll see!

I want to learn to salsa, i have been wanting to do this for a while…

I have learnt the basic step, and i can dance a little, but i’d like to actually take classes, and learn properly.

I was at a party on the weekend where there were some people dancing, and there was this one guy who was teaching me, i think i did quite well. It was so fun, and i would have liked to join in a bit more. But it has re-kindled my wish to learn to salsa, so i think i will take a class next term.
