I'm changing my tactic. — 1 year ago
I’m knocking this one off as “done”, and starting a new exercise-related goal. To me, “exercise” isn’t quantifiable enough, so i am going to be working towards completing “exercise 100 times”.

Which is really good for the legs. I’ve been a bit more active because of the warm weather, and because i’ve been off work for two weeks!
I haven’t been getting up and walking in the morning. I have almost not been getting up at all in the morning! Well, that is an exaggeration, but i have been so late getting up this week, it’s just embarrassing.
I have been walking a bit in the afternoons, i think i have walked most afternoons this week. Monday night i walk to my friends house and then home, and last night i walked home, went to the movies, and then walked home again, so at least i am not doing nothing.
Will keep trying!
I have been really busy lately, with Spanish lessons on twice a week, i feel like i have time for nothing! I know that’s not an excuse, but the last time i walked to work was my last post on this goal.. 4 weeks ago! That’s not very good. I really think that Spanish does affect it though, beacuse i end up not getting home until 9:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday, and therefore not getting to bed as early as i have discovered i like..
But, today is a new day, and i walked to work today. I actually walked to my friend SC’s new house before Spanish last night, so that was what i needed to get up this morning i think. I have realised that when my back gets tight and sore, it is from not doing any exercise, and yesterday i was in agony all day, and decided i needed a good walk. I walked last night, and woke up feeling so much better, and walked today too.
This morning i feel great. When i got home (to my friends house for Spanish) last night, my legs and back were feeling a bit achy and tired. But i knew this was because of sitting on my ball all day, and it made me happy! This morning i feel fine (the aches weren’t very bad) and i’m sitting on my ball.. I really feel as though it’s working! I am sitting up so much straighter, and my back doesn’t have pain like it used to. And this is only after a few days! It’s fantastic.
This morning i walked to work aswell. And made it on time! Hooray for the new ball and for feeling great in the morning. (Might also be something to do with the coffee i had this morning!!) :)
I had a great one, in many ways! First of all it was a long weekend for me, as i work in a financial company, and it was a bank holiday yesterday.
On Saturday Toby and i took our bikes up to the service station to pump up the tires, and then took them for a little ride around the park, and then home, which was nice, about 15-30 mins in all? And then on Saturday night we were sitting around wondering what to do, after deciding not to go out so as to save some money, and decided to go on a walk around the city taking photos!
It was great fun, and we must have walked for at least 2 hours.
Then yesterday, with my day off, i took my bike to the bike shop and rode it there, so that was a good 15-20 mins too, with a bit of a hill included (got my heart pumping!) I think now i am a bit more confident that i would be ok to ride into the city to work everyday.. now that my bike has had a service, i might start that ;)
And finally, i walked into work today, so it’s been a great start to the week for me. I will be sitting on my ball as of tomorrow (still need to get a pump to have it fully pumped up), and am feeling really good and positive! Yaiy!
And picked up my camera, and bought a ball! What a great day :)
So, only 2 times this week. But i have been very tired this week, not sleeping enough. I will hopefully not have a very big weekend. It is hard to do.
Well, i am not doing anything tonite, and in the morning i am going to plant a tree! So that is a great thing to do, and should be a bit of exersise too.
Not today. But i only got 2 hours sleep on Monday morning, so it was a miricale i got up at all. I don’t know how i did it. And i’m not surprised i didn’t wake up on time today, because i didn’t get to sleep until 11 last night either! So, an early one tonite, and then walk again in the morning.
By the way, i am feeling so much better since i have started to walk to work again; i am having less pain in my shoulders and back, and i am finding it easier to wake up in the mornings. I think a big contributer to my sleeping in problem was that i was just not getting enough sleep at 8 hours a night. I have been having 9 lately, or more sometimes, and i think it is really what i need at this point in my life. I have a lot going on, and i do have lots of late nights on the weekends, so i think that at least 9 hours or more of sleep is optimal for me at the moment.
I haven’t noticed a change in my body shape, but that doesn’t really bother me. The main reason i wanted to do more exersise is for my health and well being, and i would still like to do more, especially cardio. My body shape has a few little extra curves at the moment, but because it’s winter, i don’t really mind. It’ll come off in summer.
I walked in today, hooray, hooray. That makes me happy. If i want to do it, i can. So, on the weekend i haven’t really got anything planned (excersise-wise), but on Monday, salsa!
