Am I doing this?

I think I have learned how to relax and worry less. I just don’t care about some things anymore. This is great!

I am worrying less

Now I am better able to counter my negative thoughts that usually led me to worry. I can stop myself from thinking I will fail, something will go wrong, I won’t be able to finish everything, someting bad is going to happen to me one day, or I can’t do things I have done many times before. When I feel overwhelmed I think “You have no place to go and nothing to do, this time is just for you”. That really helps put things in focus. It allows me to think of one thing at a time. Plus, when I am doing something I do not enjoy it makes me think that in some way, this is helping me.

No cravings?

I’m not having any cravings for junk food. I think it might be because I am totally relaxed because of my over my long vacation from school (over 2 weeks). If I work to handle my stress better, use active relaxation techniques, and plan my time well, I will probably be less stressed, and therefore, crave less junk food. Plus, this semester I am enrolled in fewer credit hours, so I won’t have as much schoolwork. This will allow me to keep up with my exercises because which are another stress reliever.

I love my Palm Pilot and Computer!

I am using my Palm Pilot and computer to take some of the worry out of my life. My computers are really helping me with my goals. I use them to schedule my classes, work, research, exercise, apppointments, finances, and journaling. I am so organized I don’t have to worry about missing anyting. I also use my Palm to remember people’s birthdays! I was worth every penny in terms of the time and stress it saves me. No more post-it notes or things scribbled on scrap paper. I don’t know how I got by without this thing!

I was worried

I was worrying about many things over the past couple of days. I’m not worrying anymore because I can’t read minds to give people what they want and I can’t be perfect and do everything perfectly. If you want something done you had better put it in writing and not expect me to guess what the hell you want.

Organize your Life

Someone else on this site provided this link:http://www.lifeorganizers.com/. I haven’t even gone through the site but I feel secure knowing that its there!

A Dollar Can Really Make Your Life Easier

I went to the dollar store again (I just love that place). I bought 6 expandable baskets of different sizes. I used a small one for my fitness bands and a larger one for towels (the other ones are extra just in case I need them). I also bought these little plastic fasteners. You have probably seen larger ones used by cops as handcuffs. They are little plastic stips that can hold things together. I used some of them to organize the mess or cords under my desk. Whenever I used to move my chair around my feet would get caught in the cords and they were all tangled together. Now they are all neat and I have dozens of extra fasteners. Get this, all of your frustration with tangled cords can be solved for one dollar! Next, I have to use them to tidy up the cords from my tv and electronics. There are endless uses for these little things!

Less Worried About Money

I can worry less about money this summer. I thought that I had one paycheck left on my contract and it turns out I have two. I’ll definitely be okay on two.

Organized Entire Room

Last night I couldn’t sleep so I straightend out things in my bedroom, BIG TIME. I organized my closet. I have these great basket things that I got from a dollar store. They can fit in the palm of your hand but when you twist them, they expand like pop-up tents. I used them to store my bedding and towels and each one only cost a dollar or two. I also cleaned out and organized under the bathroom sink (I had so many old cosmetics and supplies it was ridiculous). I didn’t even realize some of the products I had. Usually when I go to the store and something is on sale, I’ll stock up. After I sorted things I realized I had 3 sticks of the same deoderant and I thought that I had just run out! I guess I won’t have to buy any for a while LOL.

Brainstorming Solutions to Stressors

Last week I made a list of all the things that stressed me out. Today I brainstormed solutions or ways to cope with each stressor and I posted them on my blog. Now I feel confident that I can cope with all those things (will take planning in advance and assertiveness for most of them). I already feel less stressed!
