learn to paint

Here’s the pic of my first painting.

I really would like to try to paint something once a week and just see how much I progress and learn.

a beach scene from a photo that I took back in September. It came out alright. I will have to take a photo of the painting so everyone can see it.
It was fun to make. I guess that is the point, not that it is masterpiece level art. Right?

Okay I am attaching a photo of the original scene.

I goofed off tonight and painted something. I used acrylic paint. I think it is hard to mix the colors. I’m sure it takes a long time to learn, but of course I was expecting instant miracles. haha.
I painted a funky paisley design. I really have no idea what I’m doing and I’m sure I need lessons to figure it out.

and find a place where I can take a class. Or maybe I should just get some paint and some canvas and see where that takes me.

I took this picture of this lotus flower on my Thailand trip. I think it would be really cool to paint. I think you can express so much emotion in a painting with the colors and patterns you choose. I’m going to try it.
