Started training...

With a student personal trainer.

Evan – Nice guy and so professional for a student, not that it’s impossible mind you, there are just SO MANY that are not!! He’s giving me exercises for my knee and I’ll get back into shape to make up for the lack of boxing.

Getting a (free) trainer get’s me excited about working out!

Blast you Q angle!

So while taking an Injury Managment class, which I just recently finished, I realized that I either have patellofemoral syndrome or chondromalacia, which are the reasons for the pain in my knee (mainly the left) when I run or walk up a lot of stairs. Turns out that it’s common in females because of Q angle (where the knee doesn’t line up with the hips) and I’ve been pretty well developing it my whole life. It’s a muscle imbalance between the vastus lateralis and vastus medialis (two quad muscles). So I have to work on strengthing my vastus medialis so I can start running again and do some plyometric exercises.
