i want to be a housewife

Our grandmothers worked very hard to keep house,and to clothe and feed their families, but in some ways it must have so much less stressful than being a wage slave in todays rat race. We struggle so hard to do our paid work, full- or part-time, and carry the guilt of knowing we can never find, or make, the time to do all the work within the home that we need to do, let alone what we want to do.
And we end up feeling guilty for taking time out to use the computer or watch some tv, when we ‘ought’ to be doing the ironing…
And we spend money to save time, because we don’t have time to do what we want to do because we’re working to make the money we need to pay for the products and services we need to help us to save the time…and so on.
I’d love to be able to focus on the home and looking after my darling husband the way I’d like to. But I have to work too.
