So happy I finally got my nose job done. I had the hump reduced, the tip made a little smaller and my septum straightened to improve breathing. My health insurance actually covered a fair bit of it since I was having the septum fixed.
I think I underestimated how difficult the first few days would be. I was on pandadol forte for the first 3 or 4 days and had only expected to need it for one day. It was very painful and I could only eat soft foods. When you first wake up it can be quite distressing, I remember thinking why would I do this to myself as I felt horrible! Also I think being on pain medication made me a bit confused at first and made me feel a quite upset. Keep taking the pain medication regularly and don’t let the pain build up as it’s harder to get rid of pain then it is to control pain.
My advice is stock up on lots of light hearted movies that don’t require much thinking as you will be quite drowsy and will want to watch something cheerful. Get lots of juice and soft snacks like icecream and yogurts to snack on.
If your on pain medication you will want to eat lots of fibre and keep your fluids up and walk around house.
The good news while it is very difficult for the first few days, it does get a lot easier. You will really want to take it easy during these days and just look after yourself.
I am very happy with my nose and would say that it was completely worth it. You should organises to stay at your parents house as you will want somebody there to care for you. It can be quite scary after the operation but if your unhappy with your nose it is worth it.
