I thought three days in San Francisco would be enough, and it was, but a week would have been even better. What a town. What a decade leading up to it. Encore. Whew!

We’re getting away from it all. Three days and nights in San Francisco. Soon. Can’t wait.
Today is the 12th anniversary of our first date. We took the bus downtown to the art museum and saw one of those film noir flicks they run in a series every year. Then we headed back up Capitol Hill and had a drink at the Broadway Grill. The evening went late and it went well. Seven months from now we’ll reach 10 years of marriage.
It’s interesting to think of these arbitrary units of time that we employ to measure significant events. Ten years is a good chunk of time relative to the average human life span, but no more significant in the grand scheme of things than nine years or eleven. It seems each decade that passes, at least, we feel compelled to pay tribute to an event, and I’m quite happy with that. My wife and I have made it eight years. Two more to go.
