I made a pattern from a pair of pants that I already own. I love these pants because they fit me so well so I figured that I could copy the design and go from there. I made a pair today out of an old table cloth (so I didn’t waste money if I totally messed it up). A few mistakes, but easy to fix. I can get cool fabric from a discount store in my town . . . $2 for fabric and $1 for a zipper! It feels good when people comment on something I have made.

I got a great book about making your own skirts without a pattern. You just take your measurments and design the pattern based on the style you want to create. I am wearing my first success: an A-line fitted waist skirt. I even learned to put in a zipper!
