So here’s how it’s going to work:
Based on a rough estimate of stuff I’ve already written, I’m using a starting point of 350,000 words.
My goal is to write at least 500 words every single day, come hell or high water. I may change this later, but it’s a good starting point.
Every day I’ll post how many words I wrote here, along with the total wordcount and percentage to show how far along I am.
DAY 1: 1,196
DAY 2: 780
351976 / 1000000 words. 35% done!

Write a million words and you’ll know what kind of writer you will become.
I’ve done NaNoWriMo a few times, and have written quite a few other stories over the years; still, I’d have to say that I am pushing no more than 350,000 words total. I often find myself angsting about the quality of my work to the point of actually being paralyzed into doing nothing, which is the WORST possible solution. So I’m throwing caution to the winds and just going for broke.
One million words, here I come – slowly, but surely.
