If nothing else I’m going to read the two Tai Chi books I own this summer. It might be something else for me to do at my altar, which is nice.

I’m in desperate need of some stress release, some self-discipline-enforcing activities and some gentle exercise.
I have two Tai Chi books and classes are offered at school and elsewhere in town.
If nothing else I want to use Tai Chi techniques to relax on a daily basis. Ideally I’ll start working on the short form. There’s probably a DVD out there that will help, so I should try to find it.
I bought a book recently, and I already own a Tai Chi directory. A class would be nice, though – I remember that there were some offered at the University, so I’ll keep an eye out for those.
For the meantime, I need to get out my books and go over the basics – Tai Chi standing, breathing, etc. I’m going to find my books tonight (09/02/2006) and concentrate on this for just a few minutes every day for the next week, no matter where I am. (In a bathroom at a friend’s house? Super!) After that, I want to focus on at least one pose every week, including how to get into it from the previous stance and how to move into the next one.
Not quite the same thing, but along the same lines: I took my first Yoga lesson the other week and I really enjoyed it. I liked how it made me feel, and it was a great workout both for the mind and the body.
There are some places around that offer Tai Chi classes. Now that I know what my schedule is going to be, I might be able to work it in.
