I remember when Mom was taking writing classes. They had her writing 15 minute “freeform writing” things. Usually produced total nonsense, but somehow it sharpened her voice a little.
I used to draw a lot. In high school our art teacher had us keep a great big notebook and draw in it every day. Then in college I got discouraged and kind of quit. I’m trying to get back into it a little, but it’s very hard. I’m all by myself (creatively, at least) out in the middle of nowhere. I’ve tried online art communities, somehow they don’t work as well. Mom said one of her friends two counties away was starting a sketching group, but I haven’t heard anything about it for weeks.
Well. I’ll just have to try harder, yes?
