Tomorrow I’m leaving the family at home and setting out on the ocean. Mexico, here I come! And Belize, and the Bahamas. Am I excited? Hell yeah!

Today I let a man, a complete stranger to me, give me a foot massage. (Pulp Fiction, anyone?) He put lotion on my calves and rubbed them with firm, strong hands. Then he painted my toenails! He even put me on a throne so I could gaze down at him from above. Okay, so maybe he worked for the salon and maybe I paid him $25. But it was worth it!

Played in the rain today. Started out with an umbrella but then said to hell with it and threw it on the ground. I picked a flower, stuck it in my little girl’s damp hair and said “You’re beautiful.”
She looked up at me. “Mommy, are you beautiful?”
A pause. “I don’t know.”
“Say yes, Mommy.”
“Okay, yes.”
