Illustrate my favorite album and other songs I love

There’s a girl in the song too. This is a quick sketch of what she might look like. I think I’ll do her in colored pencil like the boy.

This is a song from my favorite album in the whole wide world.

When you were young you were the king of carrot flowers
and how you built a tower tumbling through the trees
in holy rattlesnakes that fell all round your feet . . .

Anyway, I finally got around to making something in color from the sketch. I like it. :) I don’t want him to look so sad, but let’s pretend he is just tired from playing in that tower all day and climbing that tree. And handling holy rattlesnakes, of course. All that could wear a person out.

There will be crickets perched on coca leaves, and mountains. Maybe a twisted bridge over seaweed water. I’m not sure I would have the girl doing what she’s doing in the song, though. Heh, we’ll see. :) (Hey, if I can draw it, I will.)

Okay, I know my drawing is childlike, but this is the first time I’ve done imaginative drawing since I was a child, so I’m fine with that. It was fun, anyway. And I didn’t expect to get started on this goal so quickly, so it made me happy. :)

No matter what kind of crazy idea you come up with, somebody in the world might just have thought of it already! King of Carrot Flowers. That’s okay; it’s kind of cool actually that somebody else out there wanted to do the same thing. :) And that doesn’t mean I can’t still make my own King of Carrot Flowers. Oh, but that one looks really good (though I believe it’s unfinished).

I can’t draw that well yet but I don’t even care. My drawing doesn’t look atrocious, at least. But that’s not the point. I want to take images I have in my head from the music I love and I want to put those images on paper.

First I want to draw the King of Carrot Flowers. He is a boy and he has a crown of those pretty little white flowers, of course. He is in a green forest and there are rattlesnakes at his feet. He might have built a ladder or a rope or something like that into the trees, and it would be made with the rattlesnakes. No, I haven’t gone of the deep end, lol.
