starting to make progress

A few days ago I started using the alarm feature on my cellphone for either 7 AM or 8AM depending upon the day. So far on most days I’ve been waking up before the alarm goes off. Eventually I will likely want to move it earlier but at the same time as long as I do not have something that I “have to” be up for I will be using common sense of going back to sleep if I wake up very tired as getting sleep exhaustion is not the point of this goal but schedule shifting.



this is going to be a drastic shift

For all of my 20s I’ve been a night owl with a tendency of staying up late and sleeping in equally late to the level allowed by my very flexible schedule. On the surface there is nothing wrong with that except that it is cutting into my productivity on working on what matters most to me. As despite my night owl tendencies I am not that good at getting done anything of important meaningful value late at night as compared to earlier on in the day. Therefore in order to make the best possible use of my limited time I need to shift to an earlier schedule in order to maximize the time when I am most able to get things done.
