Goddess Nemesis 1 month ago

Much maligned and misunderstood. A worthy, powerful Goddess who rides by my side right now. May I absorb her strength.

“Happy the man who keeps his heart pure from
Guilt and crime!
Him we avengers touch not;
He treads the path of life secure from us.
But woe! Woe!
To him who has done the deed of secret murder.
We, the fearful daughters of Night,
Fasten ourselves upon his whole being.
Thinks he by flight to escape us?
We fly still faster in pursuit,
Twine our snakes around his feet,
And bring him to the ground,
Unwearied we pursue;
No pity checks our courage;
Still on and on, to the end of life
We give him no peace nor rest.”

What Crunchybread wrote to me for my birthday deserves to be here where I can look at it often and dress up in my finery when the mood takes me.

Once again, thank you Crunchy :-)

Happy Birthday Goddess Wishes for Cessie!
(Trumpets flare as bejewelled half-naked slaves carry gifts and things in on a platform over their heads)

In honor of her birthday, The Goddess CrunchyBread has baked a cake for her friend Lady Grinning Soul:

Lady Grinning Soul has seen CrunchyBread messing around playing Goddess, and said it looked like fun. So because CrunchyBread enjoys playing dress up with friends even better than playing dress up alone, a new Goddess Suit has been devised for Cessie to wear whenever she wants to feel all-powerful for a while.

(Slaves unpack gifts and lay them one by one at Cessie’s feet. CrunchyBread helps Cessie don each item in turn.)

First, her queenly crown. Cessie is hereby dubbed Goddess of Inspiration to Really Cool Thoughts. The stars on her crown signify the sparkly way her thoughts fly off in all directions.

(With a touch of magic, Cessie’s hair instantly lengthens by quite a bit and arranges itself neatly.)

Her very hair itself is a testament to how she is crowned with glory. Besides, it looks good under the tiara.

Diamonds and sapphires are her signature jewels. They represent shining delight, and deep wisdom, thoughtfulness, caring, and honor.

Her gown is gold and shining as the sun, to represent the warm glow of her love, and the brightness she brings.

Her throat is encircled with jewels, representing the tears she has shed for the ignorance she seeks to dispel.

She carries a fan of peacock feathers. The peacock is her familiar. The many eyes of it’s tail represent universal knowledge.

She holds a golden pouch, full of a magical dust. When grains of this dust are blown into the minds of mortals, they are instantly inspired to greatness of vision and comprehension of matters as infinite as the galaxy, or as intimate as the dance of molecules.

She wears a large ring on her finger, signifying her beauty and fidelity.

She wears Converse Running Shoes, because she likes them.

ALL HAIL CESSIE!

Music, Dancing and Vows for a Heavenly Body 3 months ago

“At least once each day, for just a moment, bask in the glorious goodness that is goddessness.”

This vow made by ahaikunhoney sprang to mind as I l danced around my kitchen last night, making stir-fry, listening to the Ian Brown track Stellify

“Damn, right,” I thought, “slightly grungy, mature student, indie-chick type women, who dance alone and sing to their cats are Goddesses too.” So I took the time to bask in the gloriousness of the freedom of the moment, danced a little more wildly, disconcerted the dog, and sent a little bundle of mental thanks off to ahaikunhoney :-)

It seems fitting that a man who is revered as a musical demigod within my home city should provide the words I’d like to dedicate to my inner Goddesses. The video was filmed in my city; it gives some glimpses of the different facets of the place (oh and what a surprise; it was raining when they filmed ;D)
Apart, that is, from the line where he says, “I stellify anekatips.com”; there, I must confess, I have no idea what he’s babbling about…...I guess even gods are incoherent sometimes ;P

Whilst I accept that this might not be everyone’s idea of inspiration for this goal; I would like to offer it to all my inner Goddesses, and to all of yours…............

Stellify
Yeah the first time
When you are stellified
Could be the last chance
I have to sanctify

So save the last dance
For me my love cause I
I see you as an angel freshly
Fallen from the sky

I made a shrine,
I made it for you
I see you are an angel
All the things that you do
And now I found tomorrow

With you I’m miles high
Shining like a diamond
In the darkness of the sky

I stellify
I’m miles high
I stellify

And so we’re miles above
Our ribbon in the sky
And it’s the real love
I see so in your eyes
So save the last dance
For me my love cause I
I see you as an angel freshly
Fallen from the sky

I made a shrine
That stands here for you
I see you are an angel
All the things that you do
No one knows tomorrow
The future stands to find
This rockets starts ablazing so for you
I stellify anekatips.com (!!)

I stellify
I’m miles high
I stellify

Yeah the first time
When you are stellified
Could be the last chance
I have to sanctify
So save the last dance
For me my love cause I
I see you as an angel freshly
Fallen from the sky

I made a shrine
With candles for you
I see you are an angel
All the things that you do
Now I found tomorrow
With you I stellify
Throw my arms above
Cause now I fly and touch the sky

I stellify
I’m miles high
I stellify

Conversation with The Bitch 3 months ago

Fine, ok then, if you’re so tough how about we face this huh? How about you stop yelling and shouting and actually be brave enough to let me face this once and for all? You can trust me. Look, didn’t I comfort the child and the Girl? Didn’t I let their pain be acknowledged? Didn’t I wrap my arms around them while their tears came?

I know you thought something physical was going to give way in your chest, but it didn’t did it? I held you tighter until it subsided. I need your strength and determination now. Don’t fight me; I’m not the enemy. We can do this together you know, we can become such good friends. Just trust me, ok?

So how about we change your name? How would that make you feel? It’s not nice being called Bitch all the time is it? I think you deserve to have a noble name, a name that reflects who you are and what you’ve done for Me and the child. What do you think about that?

No, let’s not laugh at the child wanting to change her name to Betty Pink; she thinks it’s pretty.

C’mon, this is about you. That’s what you want isn’t it? A little bit of appreciation? Some positive attention?

That’s what I thought.

So, as I said, how about we change your name? Like, to a Goddess name? Exciting huh?

Now see, before we get started on what name, we’ve got to do a deal, all right? You’ve got to drop the angry; we’re not having an angry Goddess. You have to stop shouting and bullying. I’m more than willing to listen but you have to talk properly, ok?

Now, I’m thinking you’re all about justice, right and wrong, defence; how do you like the name Dike? Wait…hold up…before you start with the negative connotations with that word…..let me assure you, it is the greatest of compliments. Listen to what she represents……

Dike (or Dicé) was the goddess of justice, fair judgements and the rights established by custom and law. She was also one of the Horai, goddesses of the seasons, and keepers of the gates of heaven. Her sisters were Eunomia (Good Order, Good Pastures) and Eirene (Peace, Spring). Like her siblings she probably also represented some aspect of the springtime growth. Dike was identified with Dikaiosyne (Righteousness) and Astraia (the Contellation Virgo). Her opposite number was Adikia (Injustice).

You have to believe me, this is one amazing name to have….and if you keep your promise and trust me, and remember, no more misdirected anger…..you’re going to get the recognition you deserve sweetie. I do worship you, for bringing us all this far and for being my driving force so often. Your name doesn’t suit you at all. You’ve been horribly labelled for long enough.

Think about it; as well as everything else the name Dike represents, it’s used as an insulting word to describe a lesbian. Why should this be an insult? Let’s you and I reclaim the pride and beauty of the Goddess Dike as well as celebrating the wonder of you. How about that?

So we have a deal then?
Good.
Loving you.

apologies for double posting this, but I couldn’t decide which goal was most appropriate.

My beautiful Big Sis 3 months ago

came round yesterday and brought me a ‘just because’ present of a set of affirmation/growth cards. In amongst them was one headed ‘Acknowledge the Goddess Within Me’; here’s what it says:

The “goddess” is another name for the sacred feminine energy that is inside all women. Commit to bringing this purest of feminine energy into every aspect of your life. Summon your inner goddess whenever you need her, whether it’s to lift your spirits, celebrate your triumphs, or give you the strength to achieve your dreams.

Action: Whenever you feel the presence of the goddess inside you, play some uplifting music and let yourself dance with joy and abandon. Yell with delight- look in the mirror and see yourself -the goddess is in the house!

Seems fair enough to me :-)

PHENOMENAL WOMAN 3 months ago

- by Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing of my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
The palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Please let me introduce Lady Grinning Soul 3 months ago

This is a very meaningful and timely goal for me; thank you Crunchy Bread for your brilliant idea and for including me.

So, I sat down for a long hard think about the qualities I have that are worthy of appreciation and admiration…..

I am tenacious
I have the gift of words and self-expression
I continuously pursue education, knowledge and understanding
I strive to live in harmony with nature without abusing the gifts or taking them for granted
I have compassion
I seek to nurture others and wish to always give more than I take

Knowing very little about Goddesses, I asked that great know-it-all, Google, and found a site entitled Reconnect with your inner Goddess where, upon entering your birth date, it will suggest your Goddess sign. Mine came up as Venus, which made me a bit doubtful of the validity of the ‘generator’, but then I looked at the information, affirmations etc. listed for Venus…..and I was won over. I’m not Venus, but She is within me. Even the picture (my new avatar) resembles me; my body shape, height, my preferred colours.

Venus
The Roman goddess born of heaven and sea, revered for her gifts of fertility and sensuality.
The embodiment of the feminine divine, Venus is the goddess of beauty, sass, sunshine and love.

Suggested Mantra: Divine Decadence

Suggested Affirmations:
I am valuable
I walk with confidence
I release my habit of self-criticism
At my centre there is sass and humour
I release myself from harmful judgements
I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to me
I am free to be myself, I accept myself as I am
My insecurity is replaced with shining confidence

It’s time for change, time to break out of the chrysalis and admire the beauty of what I have become. It’s time to believe.

Hello world, I’m Lady Grinning Soul.
