I joined a local crochet group and we’re going to have a group project for the Ships Project. For those who don’t know, it is a program where you knit and crochet things to send to soldiers. Anyway, the website where I found the group is called Meetup.com It’s really great. You can find groups on everything all around the world!

I took that class at Micheal’s and it really helped. I can now make a scarf that is actually even! I can also make a different kind of granny square. I plan to take a pattern reading class too.
There are lots of crafts I like, but I want to do something useable. I think crochet could be useful, but I don’t want my house covered in granny-looking projects. I have learned a little bit, but I still have trouble reading patterns. It seems like every book throws something at me I haven’t seen before. Anyone have good suggestions? I found this website: http://crochet.about.com/ that seems to have lots of links and I plan to attend a class at Micheal’s or some other local store.
