This is going really well. Tonight I ran two hours non-stop. The half marathon is in June. If training continues to go really well, I may try for the full marathon instead of the half.

It was about 20 degrees when I ran. I managed the gear just about right. Didn’t get overheated or too cold. Need new running shoes.

Biking season is just about over here, though I’m thinking about getting ice tires and winter gear and biking through the winter. But for now, I’m back to building towards June’s marathon or half-marathon. I ran 30 miles last week. This week has looked like this:
Sunday – 8 miles
Monday – rest
Tuesday – 5 miles
Wednesday – rest
Thursday – 5 miles
Friday – 5.5 miles
Hope to run 8 miles again tomm. Weather pending.

My Denali wilderness bike ride is in sixteen days so I’m in a frenzy of final training for that. I am going to focus on cycling hills instead of running for the next two weeks. I will pick back up my running after I return from the ride which is July 29th-August 1st.
Had some kind of a major breakthrough this morning. Did ten miles in 113 minutes. I know that’s slow, but you have to consider that I started off training with not even being able to run a full minute. :) I think I can definitely pull this off by next year’s race. Maybe even consider doing the full marathon instead?
Got behind on reporting my training because I was out of state for a week. While traveling, I was still able to run about 2 miles a day. Since being back, my training schedule went like this:
Thursday, July 2nd – 5 mile run
Friday July 3rd – 3 hour bike ride, 5 mile run
Saturday, July 4th – 3 hour bike ride, 2 hour hike
Sunday, July 5th – 2 hour climb, 2 mile run
Monday, July 6th – 2 hour climb, 1 mile run
Tuesday, July 7th – 5.5 mile run

Strong 5 mile run today. Was able to run for a continuous hour with the only walking being the 5 minute warmup and 5 minute cool down.
