I finished my portfolio – it was good enough to receive a $40,000 scholarship to the college I was applying for. (Btw, I didn’t end up using any of the art I posted below, heh)
If you’re thinking about creating an art portfolio or in the process of doing so, don’t give up its completely worth it in the end.

I did this one in eight hours… all on one summer day when I had nothing to do.
Chalky pastel, chalky pastel pencils and colored pencils on regular poster board.
It almost doesn’t fit in my portfolio case.

...It probably won’t go in the portfolio… but I thought I’d post it anyway!

Colored pencil and chalky pastel pencil on… poster board.
I had to use myself as a model for the drawing, because no one else held the harp the way I wanted it for the picture.
I’m not sure if I’m going to use this one for my portfolio or not… I know the drawing is missing some artistic elements that the art schools may be looking for.
I need a good art portfolio to show my best works of art to colleges.
Presently I take art classes for a few hours every day in the high school I’m at. I’m hopeing that some of the pieces I create there will do for my art portfolio. I need about 10 to 12 pieces, and there should be a variety of art styles included in that number.
Above you’ll see a graphite picture, it didn’t scan very well so a lot of the detail was lost… but you get the general idea. I’m thinking about including this one because it shows a good light source and a lot of value scale.
