get over my fear of driving

When I was 16 I was so excited to get my license. My boyfriend would take me driving often. I had confidence… everything was great. Then 2 friends at school was killed in 2 seperate big car crashs, and I heard about a car nearby that crashed into a wall… killing a toddler and everyone inside. (But I lived in the city so it was ok, there were buses.)
I didn’t want to drive anymore. Then at 21 I went and got my permit and I was ready to give it another go. Although truly terrified when another car was on the same road as me. I wanted to pull over immediatly. I was still ready to go.
Then my cousin… closer to me than any of my siblings was killed in an accident and thrown from the car. This one involved my all time feared 18 wheeler truck. They scare me beyond words… even in the car with someone else.
It’s not so much my driving.. it’s that I don’t trust other people’s driving. I’ve seen so many close calls where drivers are preoccupied. But that is human nature… and it scares me. Someone like me shouldn’t be driving.
