Next steps...

1. Pay off the mortgage as soon as possible
2. Buy an investment property by the end of 2009
3. Buy $10,000 of shares by end of 2009
4. Learn not to use credit cards
5. Avoid higher purchase at least until January 2009, wherever possible.

Credit cards

Done! Everything is paid out, and we have started making extra repayments on our mortgage. And we have room to start saving (just gotta keep on track).

Step One

Credit cards on their way to being paid out. All other loans consolidated into house with some equity to spare. Investment property on the horizon. Share portfolio, tho small is doing well considering the market. Need to grow it a bit more. We are on our way.

New budget

Once I finish all the things on my to do list tonight, I think I will sit down and try and work out a new budget – one where we can save a bit of moula for cool things. And banish those horrid credit cards. Nasty things they are.

Consolidation

We’ve decided to consolidate all loans and credit cards into our home loan, and surprisingly this means no real impact on the house loan at our current repayment rate. But it will also free up some money with which we will make extra payments. That way we can gain some more equity in our house or save some cash for the deposit for an investment property. Its a step in the right direction.
