just got myself a copy of...

“The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron..

...am so happy but i haven’t read a page even! wonder what i’m waiting for?!!

Mark Haddon's "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time"

Funny and emotive, and I love the ending ”..and I wrote this book and that means I can do anything”.

Very inspiring line, that is! :)

one more!

An Unquiet Mind: A Memoir of Moods and Madness by Kay Redfield Jamison

Well, not exactly “chick lit” but contributes to time away from the internet surely. Its well-written, very readable, mainly because of the awfully, peculiarly british way of using adverbs and many, many adjectives. Feels cosy though, and its strange to feel cosy with someone who describes depression.
I don’t know why, but I still feel there is something dishonest about it, even though it is a very brave attempt at describing madness. There is certainly one haunting image within it, “phantasmagoric” like she calls it herself. Definitely worth a read for anyone who wants to know more about bipolar depression, and its actually very nice to read it from the perspective of a clinician who suffers from the disease she treats.

read so far..

May release this into the wild – whether or not I join bookcrossing.com. Light and fun chick-lit, ok for one read. Not particularly memorable, more like airplane reading, or bedtime reading.

Highly recommended.

sub-goal:I want to read my favourite books again.

I just read a quote from The Little Prince on 43. Its one of my faves. Another one is Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier. I do want to read that again too.

I haven’t read Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins but that’s on the list.

Am currently reading Oxygen by Andrew Miller. It is wholesome. (LOL – my pretentious word of the day, but then I didn’t want to say nice and intelligent. Its a good dose of reality mixed with emotions). I do like your style, Miller.

elinor lipman, here i come..

reading ‘the way men act’
