There is a wonderful book I’m reading called “2DO Before I Die- The DO-IT-YOURSELF Guide to the Rest of Your Life” by Michael Ogden and Chris Day. It has 10 sections, and at the end of each section are a dozen or so questions designed to help you clarify the architecture of your personality (my words, not theirs). I STRONGLY recommend getting a notebook and a pen and answering the questions. They really give you a better handle on where you came from, how you got where you are now, and where you are currently going (so you can “head yourself off at the pass” if you need to).
Some sample questions from the “ROOTS” section: Name one goal that your 16-year-old-self would have that would not be on your list now. Was there something you enjoyed doing as a kid but were advised to leave behind? Name one thing you wish you had done more of when you were a teenager.
Some sample questions from the “LEARN” section: If you could pass on one piece of advice to your 15-year-old self, what would it be? Name a skill you can’t imagine living without. Who are your hero’s heroes?
All of the sections are wonderful. I haven’t even read the stories which the authors included as examples in each section. I am having far too much fun dredging up memories I haven’t replayed for years!
