Joined a new rowing club, and my my the coach is a bit of a fitty!! Almost worth rowing for, to be honest! :p
The new club is nice, less emphasis on hardcore rowing, more on… having… fun? But I think I might drop rowing. And take up the gym. I don’t know.
I went proper rowing on the Thames and didn’t fall in. I was quite proud. I’m not looking forward to going back back at the start of the season, and having to row row row my boat gently down the stream :\ ah well, it’s good for me and I feel so wonderful afterwards.
Today I went rowing for a little bit. Nothing major, I did two 10 minutes, and then a 500m thing after, just to finish off.
My split for the first one was…. 2.22.3, and for the second one (a little lower) 2.24.1 – but considering this is where I was 9 months ago, over 25 minutes, i was quite happy, and that I’ve not been training that hard at all.
I saw a great quote the other day, and I applied it to this: ‘Sweat is God’s way of telling you you’re getting more beautiful.’ I quite liked that.
No pain, no gain.
Well I did go rowing on Thursday, first time in a long time. I felt so good afterwards. I only did two reps of 10 minutes, but I felt so good afterwards. Hoping to go tomorrow, or today later, when its’ not so hot. (:
