Great happenings!

I finally got all the stored junk out of my room…my studio is a little messier now than I’d like – but at least there isn’t anything in my bedroom that doesn’t belong. I even got to finish putting up more of the decor stuff I wanted. Still have a few more items to hang, make, and put away – but then it will be done! Hurray!

This might be harder than I thought....

Cosmically speaking…something out there may, in fact, be against me.

I finished the renovations to the spare bedroom and it looked PHENOMENAL. The gray I chose for the walls looks awesome, especially with the new shiny white trim (previously a dingy flat white) I pulled off some neat little space tricks with furniture I already had and managed to fit space that can be used as a laptop desk, a nice little vanity, nightstands, Big TV w/stand – all the things Dan had in his room but with well..more!! I’m so proud…

BUT…the renovations on the rest of the house have led me to using what little space we have in our room to store things in the interim. So it’s a mess…dirty clothes everywhere, not finished with decorations…impossible to walk to the bed…

::sigh:: Back to the drawing board.

regression...

So the room was good for a while – not the tidiest…not perfect but then…

...had a little bit of a breakdown last week during a fight with the hubby-type guy and smashed a lamp and some furniture amongst other things..not one of my prouder moments and really I should be posting something about this on my “learn to be happy” goal.

I haven’t even cleaned up the broken shards or curtain rods yet, I just can’t bring myself to look at it anymore.

However! My roommate is moving out next week. The plan at this juncture is to tear up the carpet – drop a nice wood laminate floating floor over the whole 2nd floor and move our bed, TV, and clothes closet into what was his room. Since we’ll have the house to ourselves from now on the laundry hamper will be in the upstairs bathroom – less space to mess up and NO MORE DIRTY CLOTHES IN MY ROOMEVER. Then to turn the master bedroom into the den – where we’ll have the TV, video games, couches, and all manner of other knick-knack crap in a nice home theater style space – with great acoustics. The downstairs one-room living/dining area will become a office/workshop suitable for tabletop gaming on Sundays and both mine and the man’s work during the week, with a little tiny eating-nook-thing in the corner.

This new setup in the house should allow us to keep things much cleaner and separates what we make messy from what we want to be clean. I’m finding that most of this goal centers around changing the world around me to suit me rather than changing myself to suit what I’d like.

well...

I HAD done it, I had cleaned my room very well – it was great for months too!! BUT recently it kind of exploded again and I haven’t had anytime to get it back on track.

So goal still open.

The state of affairs

My room has been in squalor for years. No matter how hard I try I just can’t get it all clean and tidy. I’ll usually get lots of it done and it looks good, so I quit. Or I won’t have time to finish and everything just piles up again.

I have clean clothes, dirty clothes, files, IMPORTANT FILES, empty wather bottles, old makeup, jewlery, books, magazines, CD’s, and anything that might come out of my pocket at the end of the day all over every surface and completely covering the floor.
I also have a canopy frame that I built a few years ago, that originally hung over my bed but since needed cleaning and repair and I never hung it back up, that needs to change.

This is an immediately attainable goal. I should be able to do this. It’s just gonna take some effort and I need to find time that I don’t seem to have – but it will be done, oh it will.
