So after a lengthy delay, I’m going to try three-inchers. It took me a long time for my toesies to recover from all the running and then to find heels that were only incrementally higher than my last pair of heels described previously, not too narrow and something I’d actually wear!!
Wish me luck! :D

Now that I’m running longer distances, I’m proud to announce I have my first (almost) blackened toenail (although I don’t think it’s severe enough for the nail to fall off – that would just be gross)!
This condition is, sadly, very common among runners and since my big toes are so bruised and tender—they won’t be squeezing into any high heels any time soon!

And would you believe I ended up swing dancing in these? I didn’t topple over – although I wasn’t entirely graceful all the time either… LOL!

My next challenge: 2 1/2” heels. The heel is a relatively wide square so hopefully the switch from wedges will be okay. :)
As I had guessed, the half-marathon training is a little rough on my feet (not to mention maintaining a nice pedicure)!
Whatever the case, I’m actually finding this goal to be a lot of fun.

A little squishy on one of my toes after a while but otherwise even easier than the lower (red) wedges I have because they are flatter on the bottom.
Wearing wedges is something I can personally recommend to others working on this goal.

The goal of learning to walk in high heels may be incompatible with training for a half-marathon. Guess we’ll see!
