Be kind and considerate to others

I feel bad! We have been having a winter storm advisory in effect all morning in southern Ontario. It tapered off some around 9:00 AM so I decided to drive in to work. The streets were full of snow, ice pellets were falling, and there was ice on the streets hidden under the snow. While going uphill on one of the smaller side streets in downtown Ottawa, I sounded my horn because a pedestrian was walking in the middle of the street, right in front of me, his back to me. I guess he didn’t hear me coming up the street. So I hit the horn again and he turned around and then slowly moved out of the way. I was very fearful that if I stopped, the car would get stuck in the deep snow. That would have been horrendous.
As I continued uphill, there was yet another pedestrian walking in the middle of the street. I sounded the horn once again and he didn’t move out of the way. I felt like rolling down my window and saying, Hey, crazy Gatineau woman at the wheel, get outta the way! But I only thought it .. I would never say it. Thank goodness I finally got to my parking spot safe and sound. The snow started up again as I walked the 6+ or so blocks to work. Hopefully by the time I leave to go home the streets will have been plowed.
It would have been a good day to work from home. :o|
