donate blood regularly

I got my new Red Cross So Cal Red Cross Card in the mail today. I have one from Tennessee Valley as well. I am eligible to donate blood again soon. It amazes me that more people do not donate blood when it is so easy to do. My late mother, said that her dad, my grandfather, donated a great deal of blood during his lifetime. She also told me that he had the ability to stop bleeding when someone was hurt. Suppposedly people would bring wounded people to him to stop their bleeding.

Donated to American Red Cross last Sunday. They had the Blood Mobile parked in front of the church.

I donated blood this week at school. Since I was one of the first 25 donors, I received 2 movie tickets to AMC! I love getting free stuff. I took my class with me so that they would understand that it is not painful or scary. I can’t wait to see Twilight. Maybe I will go see that instead of some stupid kid movie with Hallie & Jonathan.

I donated blood while on a field trip to The Grove with my students. It was convenient and easy, plus my students could see that it is not a big deal.

I plan to go donate blood this Friday. The last time I donated they gave me a freaking coaster. Not a full set…1 coaster! I want a T-Shirt for my quilts!! Hello..nobody wants one coaster!

I donated blood today. Honestly, I was hoping my iron would be too low and I would only have to have my finger pricked to get the free shirt!! However, it was 38, so I donated. It was not bad this time. The last time, they tried to kill me!!

I plan to use all the shirts from donating in my next quilt that I make. I already have one queen sized quilt that has all the fronts from my old tshirts in it. It is cool. I really like it a lot. I also have quilts made from Jonathan and Hallie’s clothes too. I suck at scrap booking but I can pay someone to quilt for me!!

I went last Friday and my iron was too low. I plan to go back this Friday and try again. I did get a really cool Titans Tshirt just for trying so not a total waste of time.

I had planned to donate blood this weekend, but I think I have pneumonia. I have been sick for about three weeks now. My lungs are so congested. Maybe I will feel better next Friday and I can go then.

I donate blood. Today I got an invitation for a dinner that is being sponsored by Red Cross. There will be gift bags and door prizes! I hope the gift bags are not too valuable like the ones the actors got at the Oscars!! I would hate to have to pay taxes on it! :) I’m joking. I RSVP’d tonight. Maybe I will meet a hot, single blood donor??

Donated on St. Patrick’s Day. I was hoping for a cool St. Patty’s shirt, but it was like Army green with their 125th year anniversary logo. Still cool to get a free shirt. So if you can donate, Dont be a big P. Get down there and do it.
