get rid of unnecessary possessions

Donated 5 large bags of clothes to a local church that has a weekly give away. Some of the clothes were nice dress suits that I can wear anymore due to weight gain. Some were just clothes that are so not LA, that I look like a tourist.

I decided to donate the dress clothes to someone who may need professional clothing. I will buy new work and church clothes that I can actually wear as I lose weight. Luckily dress for work and church is very casual in Los Angeles. We have dress for success on Wednesdays. Other than that,you are free to dress casual. Our school colors are black and green, which we wear on Fridays! Go Sentinels.... ? LOL

Lately I have been giving Hallie’s clothes away as soon as they are too small. One of my TAs has a little niece that is smaller than Hallie so I bring them directly to school.

Jonathan lays his clothes out in the living room when he is ready for me to give them away. I bring them to school to male students at my school.

Today I bagged up about 10 pairs of shoes that Hallie and Jonathan have outgrown. Jonathan’s shoes are barely even worn. I plan to take them to school tomorrow and give them away. Jonathan wears a 9 1/2 now and Hallie wears an 11!

Yesterday I donated 5 bags of my clothes to Goodwill. Rachel helped me sort through for “ill fitting” clothing. I am not finished yet!! So hopefully I can make even more room in my closet.

Since we are moving to LA with movers that are charging me by pound, I am finding it easier to get rid of stuff moreso than ever before. All of my living room tables have door that open to store junk…I do mean Junk. I have sorted through four of the tables and save 1.5 boxes from them. The rest went into file 13! I am not a pack rat, but I get attached to things…which is stupid. I will keep all my photo albums if I have to carry them on my back across the US. The kids get to keep two boxes of toys each. The rest will be donated. I am also donating my washer and dryer and day bed! I hope someone who really needs it gets it and it makes them sooo happy. :)

I took a box of stuff to Granma’s Attic in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is a consignment store that splits the earnings 50/50. I made $26! I need to take some more junk.
