I have changed my smoothie recipe – a bit more spring, and a little less winter, and without the cooked stuff that I thought was/might be raw! (oats/rice milk). Based largely on Jason Vale’s recipes with added extras:
Juice of; 1-2 apples and/or 1-2 pears, big chunk of cucumber, 2 sticks celery, half a chunky slice of pineapple, a lime, a cube of ginger, handful of spinach, sometimes an orange.
Blended up in a blender with: a handful of frozen strawberries, handful of frozen blueberries, half an avocado, 1tsp spirulina, a glug of omega 3/6/9, 1tsp coconut oil.
Would say I am now 100% veggie, 98% vegan (if that is possible – you either ‘is or ain’t’, I suspect!) and 50% raw.

Came across some interesting articles on going raw on www.beyondveg.com – presenting ‘the other side’ of raw foodism/natural hygienism etc. The first I have come across on the net.

Am back on the smoothies – I just love these; I was lost without them! Current smoothie recipe: 1 small carton rice milk, 2tbs oats/1 tbs flaxseed/1 tbs almonds (all soaked overnight), 1 tbs omega 3/6/9 oil, 1 tsp coconut oil, 1 tsp spirulina, 1 dsp agave syrup, fresh or frozen blueberries, raspberries, mango, strawberries etc. Delish! That’s breakfast taken care of. I am so impressed with myself for inventing this; it is perfect for me. Now, need to sort out lunch. I should probably check if rice milk is raw – a moment’s uncertainty has come upon me. If not, will have to start making nut milk.

By the end of the year. I think the only way I am going to shrink the ‘broids and avoid surgery is to be completely ‘clean’. And I do believe that raw foodism is my best chance of achieving that. This option also seems to fit in with my general feeling of renewal and change, so it feels right. Am going to do this gradually (for a change); first – go back to making my smoothies in the morning (which were all raw anyway)and make a habit of a big salady lunch. For the rest; I need to read, and learn.
