Gah! I still have 2 Kate Bush CDs to finish the B’s. Lordy I have fallen off the wagon. I need to re-think the 10 a day, it’s feeling too big now that work has kicked back up in a bigger way.
Though I’d like to get to Cher by the end of the week. just sayin.

only did 4 CDs and didn’t even finish Kate Bush. Itunes started acting wonky and I got distracted after my computer recovered. doh.
Still aiming for 10 tonight…

I chose to return to ripping the “main” collection (mostly made up of non-compilations). Started with Frank Black…ended with LTJ Bukem. 11 discs in all (one was a double CD) and cover art. As far as rating songs, I’m mostly trying to pick out my 4 and 5 star “faves” as I see them come in and letting go of the rest to keep things moving.
Tomorrow should finish out the B’s (Kate Bush) and star the C’s

I was out of the house ALL day yesterday and didn’t do any ripping. But I just finished ripping my remaining soundtracks (I think there were 12). So I didn’t make my 10 a day with 100%, but I’m just happy soundtracks were done by the end of the week.
I made sure to get cover art for everything, but I let myself off the hook for rating every song in soundtracks because a lot of these CDs were my partner’s and some were even original scores so…that was getting tedious :) I just tried to pluck out the 4 and 5 star gems so they’re easier to find later.

I almost bagged today, but bit the bullet anyway. I did 10 more soundtracks and added album art but I skimped a little on ratings (I left out some soundtracks that were my partner’s and I have nooo interest in).
Now I have to decide whether to complete the “mini” collections (classical, spoken word, etc) or dive back into the main collection first (which I started last year)

I did 10 last night and a little more than 10 tonight (to get all the way through all the Matrix soundtracks) and then went back and made sure I had cover art and ratings for ALL soundtracks that I had already ripped (including the new 20+ or so)
And now McBain is gonna be my ripping buddy :)

I’ve got iTunes set to just import any audio CD that is inserted, not to actually play it, and to just spit it out when it’s done.
That’s helping me do it in the background while I do other tasks on my computer.
But I also feel the need to rate every song as it’s imported (I certainly have tons of unrated songs from before this tactic) so that it doesn’t become a huge music library of “out of sight, out of mind” songs and albums. Hence my decision to limit to 10 a day…I can quickly rate that many songs after they’re done importing or during if I have the time.
I started last night, and I’m halfway through my 10 for today…we’ll see how this experiment goes.
