I wanted to move back – but I think I’ve found a new “home” and need to take this off my list. I’ve moved right onto Hanover St. in the North End of Boston – and I couldn’t be happier!

I keep trying to get away.... 4 years ago

Funny, up until I moved to Seattle (after College graduation) – I had never been there, and whenever I had that “homesick” feeling – it was always for someplace that I didn’t know. Once I moved there, and then moved away the first time, I realized that “homesick” was for Seattle. That moved lasted 3 months (to AZ). Then, a couple years later, I moved to California for almost a year – and I was going CRAZY to go home. I couldn’t WAIT to quit that job. Then came this move.

I thought I was ready to move on. I really like going someplace new and getting to know new people, and new haunts, and the like. But, I’ve been gone just over a year, and I feel it calling me back. The worst part is that I’ve met the most amazing man here (in Philly) – and we’re talking marriage. The problem? He will NEVER move from Philly. He just doesn’t have that insatiable thirst for the new and adventurous in him.

Unfortunately, this may be our downfall. I can’t fathom living here for the rest of my life. I could imagine living in Seattle for the rest of my life – but moving back there doesn’t guarantee that I won’t take off for my next quest a few years later. It just means that I have a home to return to after each of these little jaunts.

I just want to go home. It’s not feasable now. I have a good job, that after a couple more years I would be able to move back there if a spot opened up…and I like the company so hopefully that pans out. I can’t just up and quit to move back like I did in Cali (OMG – was that “Adult Speak”??!?)

Ugh. I want to go now.
