apparently, giving myself a month to do this project was not nearly enough. Especially since I was either too sick (for about a week) or too tired (from managing my ENTIRE household because my wife was immobilized from knee surgery)!!! In any event, I’m still going to try and Get That Done, and finish this friggin’ bathroom as soon as possible.

I think that’s about it…. I HOPE!
I’ve started remodeling the bathroom before we moved into our new house in May of 2008. We pretty much gutted it when we found mold behind the bathtub and drywall. I took out the tub, built a small wall, and put in a one-piece tub/shower insert. I put in a new vanity and sink, more drywall and put in some linolium on the floor. It was finished about a month after we moved in (we got sidetracked with the birth of our daughter about a week after we moved in). Of course, having a baby pretty much halts any forward momentum I had for projects until the last few months. I have a lot of goals to accomplish this coming year (2010), so I figure I better get going and finish the ones I’ve already started. Recently, I’ve added a handmade cabinet that is inserted into the wall between the studs. It turned out very cool I thought. It even has a fold down seat that lets you sit in the shower (my wife tore her ACL and isn’t allowed to stand on her foot for 6 weeks, so she has to shower sitting down). Once she’s able to walk again, I’ll take the fold-out-of-the-wall shower seat out and put some shelves in. It works pretty cool, actually, but I’ll be excited to get it out of there and make the whole cabinet a little more functional.
